In the United Kingdom and France there is great concern about Emiliano Sala. The 28-year-old striker, who switched from Nantes FC to Cardiff City last week for 17 million euros, was aboard a private plane that disappeared near the French coast of the radar around 8.30 pm on Monday evening.
The plane was on its way from Nantes to Cardiff and the French police confirmed that Sala was one of the two persons on board. The other was the pilot.
In the vicinity of the British island of Alderney in the Channel, lifeboats and helicopters are looking for the plane, but nothing has been found yet.
Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman says he is “particularly worried” about Sala. “But we are waiting for confirmation before we go into this,” Dalman told Wales Online . Nantes has not commented yet. However, the French Football Association has now decided to postpone the Cup match scheduled for Wednesday against Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien until Sunday.

Sala scored twelve times for Nantes this season
Sala was still in Nantes Monday afternoon to say goodbye to his teammates. The Argentinian shared a picture of the farewell on Twitter and Instagram and that is also his last message. A player from Nantes dropped him off at the airport.
On Saturday, Sala, who has an Italian passport along with an Argentinean, signed a contract until mid-2022 at Cardiff City. He had flown back to Nantes especially for the farewell. He is the most expensive purchase ever of Cardiff City, which is eighteenth in the Premier League.
In the French Ligue 1, Sala scored twelve times this season for Nantes, where he played since 2015. Previously, he was active for Girondins de Bordeaux and Caen.
